We are so grateful for the few times a year where The Conduit Center has the opportunity to host the Alliance for Holistic Living. The group sponsors a monthly education series on each Third Thursday which is free to the community.
This past Thursday, our workshop topic centered around the benefits of Food as Medicine. Speaker Iwona Ledger of Tolland’s Love and Peas.
Great engagement from the group as she walked us through her journey beginning with her career as a nurse, becoming stymied in her profession due to systemic policies which overlooked and misunderstood the body’s health as it pertained to the effects of bad nutrition, and toxic chemicals of processed foods.
Food needs to be viewed as vehicles for nutrition, not calories. And that’s not how our culture see and values food, our dining habits and the industry of packaging and marketing involved in our lives.
